It’s time to finally write that novel that’s been trapped in your head or collecting dust in your computer files. In this interactive course, I will guide writers through the 14 steps of the Novel Blueprint, a framework designed to set up novelists for success, whether they’re in the planning stages of the novel or stuck in the murky middle. Writers will be assigned homework every week and receive live coaching on their work in a friendly, collaborative environment. After completing their blueprints, participants will have the tools, mindset, and accountability they need to write forward with clarity and confidence. All participants will receive an electronic copy of Blueprint for a Novel as a companion to the coursework.
For adults 21+, this is a paid course. All proceeds are donated back to keeping our youth classes entirely free, always, for any young writer in Northern Michigan. Dedicated writers ages 16-21 are eligible for a scholarship to take this course at no cost.
Registration opens April 15th.
“I have taken numerous courses on writing in the past three years. I can honestly say, this is the best writing class I have taken! As a retired college professor myself, I can easily recognize a teacher who is both passionate and fully immersed in their subject. Miranda Keskes is, without a doubt, that teacher. She is engaging, thought-provoking, and always prepared with great material.”

Revise Your Way to a Final Draft
Class offered through the National Writers Series
Price and Location TBD (Traverse City)
In-Person: Sunday, August 2nd, 2-5:00 pm EST
Writing a novel and want to know if you’re on the right track? This one-day, interactive workshop is an excellent way to find out. During this three-hour session, participants will learn techniques for revising their novel at both the macro story-level, and the micro scene-level. After learning techniques, students will have dedicated time to try various revision activities and receive feedback from both the instructor and peers in small groups. By the end of the workshop, all students will have both written and verbal feedback, and a packet of revision tools to take with them so they can continue revising on their own.
Prior to class: All students should bring the first ten pages of their novel-in-progress to be used during revision activities. These can be hardcopy pages, on a laptop, or both. Before the class, students will be emailed a mini novel blueprint to fill out and bring to class as a hard copy for an interactive ice breaker activity.
Registration opens April 15th.
