Book Coaching for Writers Who Want
Guidance, Not Guesswork

Writing a novel is a complex, multi-step undertaking, and many writers feel stuck not because they lack talent or commitment, but because they don’t have a clear path from idea to finished book. Book coaching exists to provide that structure, sequencing, and support.

I work one-on-one with writers who care deeply about their stories but feel overwhelmed, unsure how to begin, or uncertain about what to do next. My coaching is structured, supportive, and focused on real progress. Together, we identify clear next steps, set realistic goals, and build steady momentum that fits a full, demanding life.

Whether you are starting a novel, trying to regain momentum in the middle, revising a completed draft, or preparing to approach agents, I meet you where you are and guide you through the process step by step, so you are not left guessing your way through something that matters this much to you.

You do not have to write alone.

“Mandy is tremendously encouraging, always providing a safe space to bounce around ideas for story and character development. One thing I did not expect was for the sessions to be so joyful. Having a person who is heavily invested in your characters and story and wants to see how they ultimately turn out is so affirming and motivating.”

Novel Foundations Coaching

One-on-one guidance to help you start your novel or get back on track with confidence

$400

If you want to write a novel but feel unsure how to begin, or you have started and now feel stuck or uncertain about what to do next, Novel Foundations Coaching is designed for you.

This package is for writers who need a clear starting point, a strong foundation, and reassurance that they are building a novel that will connect with their ideal readers.

You do not need a polished draft. You do not need to know what writing stage you are in. You simply bring what you have right now, whether that is an idea, notes, or early pages, and we work from there.

Together, we clarify what your novel needs most, identify what is already working, and create a realistic plan for moving forward. You leave knowing exactly what to focus on next and how to keep writing without second-guessing every step.

What’s included

  • An initial 30-minute call to discuss your goals, questions, and challenges

  • High-level feedback on up to 20 pages/5,000 words or on planning materials/ideas, including a detailed editorial letter with clear, actionable next steps

  • One 60-minute coaching call to talk through feedback and solidify your writing plan

  • Email support with responses within 24 business hours

Many writers use this as a starting point before moving into ongoing coaching, but it also stands on its own if you need focused guidance to get unstuck and moving again.

Novel Momentum Coaching

Steady, one-on-one support to keep your novel moving forward

$700 per month | three-month starting commitment

Writing a novel is difficult to sustain on your own, especially when you’re balancing work, family, and the mental load of everyday life. Novel Momentum Coaching is designed to give you consistent structure and support so you do not lose momentum, spiral into self-doubt, or quietly drift away from the work.

This coaching works in a bi-weekly rhythm because most writers with full lives do better with steady, realistic progress than with long gaps or constant intensity. This rhythm keeps your novel emotionally alive without asking you to reorganize your entire life around writing.

You do not need to be confident when you begin. You do not need to know how to write a novel yet. You just need a place to show up, be guided, and keep going.

How the rhythm works

Novel Momentum Coaching begins with a three-month commitment so you have enough time to build traction and see real progress. After that, you may continue month-to-month for as long as support feels helpful.

Every two weeks, you have a clear focus on what you will work on next, whether that involves planning, drafting, or revising. These are not pass-or-fail deadlines. They are check-in points designed to keep you oriented and supported.

If life gets busy or a week does not go as planned, we adjust. Progress is measured by forward motion, not perfection.

What’s included in the first three months

  • An initial 30-minute call to clarify goals and current stage

  • Six bi-weekly writing check-ins of up to 20 pages/5,000 words or novel-planning exercises, tailored to your schedule and capacity

  • High-level feedback on each submission, plus a multi-page editorial letter with clear guidance and next steps

  • Six 60-minute coaching calls to review feedback, troubleshoot challenges, and keep momentum steady

  • Email support with responses within 24 business hours

By the end of three months, most writers have drafted or revised up to 120 pages or 30,000 words. Others have created a fleshed-out Novel Blueprint with a clear plan for drafting. Most importantly, they no longer feel lost. They understand how their novel is built, how to move through the messy middle, and how to keep going even when motivation dips.

Novel Manuscript Review

Thoughtful feedback on a completed draft

$1400 for manuscripts up to 80K words | $150 for every additional 5K words

If you are earlier in the writing process, starting with Novel Foundations Coaching or Novel Momentum Coaching will provide more value and prevent unnecessary overwhelm.

What’s included

Agent-Ready Pitch Coaching

Calm, strategic support for preparing your work for literary agents

$1200

Pitching agents is a different skill from writing a novel, and many writers feel unsure how to present their work professionally, even when the manuscript itself is strong.

This package exists to protect the work you have already poured into your novel by helping you approach agents prepared, informed, and supported, not rushed or guessing.

Agent-Ready Pitch Coaching is designed for writers who feel solid about their manuscript and want thoughtful guidance through the pitching process.
